2022 not only marks 120 years of the teddy bear, first developed in 1902 by Richard Steiff, but also Steiff founder Margarete’s 175th birthday and 30 years of their prestigious Collector’s Club. To mark this momentous year in their story, Steiff have created an enchanting family of bears to capture the values that have served as such a solid foundation for them since the company’s conception in 1880. Mama bear is made from the finest dark blond mohair and she has a delightful squeaker. She wears a beautiful rosewood coloured poplin dress with a charming fabric ruffle down the front. Her dark eyes and hand embroidered brown nose give her a endearing expression. This bear is limited to 1,902 pieces and she comes with her numbered certificate in a Steiff gift box with its original protective cardboard outer sleeve.
